Minimal p-divisible groups

چکیده
Introduction. A p-divisible group X can be seen as a tower of building blocks, each of which is isomorphic to the same finite group scheme X[p]. Clearly, if X1 and X2 are isomorphic then X1[p] ∼= X2[p]; however, conversely X1[p] ∼= X2[p] does in general not imply that X1 and X2 are isomorphic. Can we give, over an algebraically closed field in characteristic p, a condition on the p-kernels which ensures this converse? Here are two known examples of such a condition: consider the case that X is ordinary, or the case that X is superspecial (X is the p-divisible group of a product of supersingular elliptic curves); in these cases the p-kernel uniquely determines X. These are special cases of a surprisingly complete and simple answer: if G is “minimal”, then X1[p] ∼= G ∼= X2[p] implies X1 ∼= X2,

non-divisibility for abelian groups
Throughout all groups are abelian. We say a group G is n-divisible if nG = G. If G has no non-zero n-divisible subgroups for all n>1 then we say that G is absolutely non-divisible. In the study of class C consisting all absolutely non-divisible groups such as G, we come across the sub groups T_p(G) = the sum of all p-divisible subgroups and rad_p(G) = the intersection of all p^nG. The proper...
متن کاملStrati cations and foliations of moduli spaces
We study the moduli spaces A = A g;1 F p of principally polarized abelian varieties in characteristic p, and also A g F p. The p-structure on the abelian varieties in consideration provides us with several naturally deened subsets. In this talk we discuss the deenitions and constructions of these sets, we indicate interrelations, and we sketch proofs, applications, open problems and conjectures...
متن کاملOn divisibility in definable groups
Let M be an o–minimal expansion of a real closed field. It is known that a definably connected abelian group is divisible. In this note, we show that a definably compact definably connected group is divisible.
متن کاملOn dp-minimal ordered structures
We show basic facts about dp-minimal ordered structures. The main results are: dp-minimal groups are abelian-by-finite-exponent, in a divisible ordered dp-minimal group, any infinite set has non-empty interior, and any theory of pure tree is dp-minimal.
